Our company began with years of experience working as specialist drainage contractors in the food retail sector. During this period, we noticed a recurring issue: most supermarket drainage failures were not underground but in the overlooked above-ground condensate drains connected to HVACR and refrigeration equipment. These problems caused frequent callouts, unnecessary maintenance costs, and avoidable disruptions.
Above-ground condensate drains are positioned in confined spaces and are difficult to access. Refrigeration cabinet drains were especially problematic because limited space beneath cabinets made it challenging to create a proper pipe slope. This led to repeated blockages, leaks, and pooling water on store floors.
Despite the frequency of these issues, no effective solutions existed in either the drainage or refrigeration industries. This gap inspired us to evolve from a service provider into a dedicated HVACR innovation company.
Our research identified biofilm as the main cause of condensate drain blockages. While exploring advanced technologies, we discovered a patented biofilm-control solution used in nuclear bunker drinking water systems. Working with a development specialist, we adapted this technology into the first HVACR-specific biofilm removal tablet.
When the product launched in 2012, industry interest was limited. Without a sales team, we offered free trials through a simple website. The feedback was clear and consistent—retailers experienced up to a 70% reduction in drainage callouts, confirming that our solution worked.
The success of our condensate drain tablet earned us the 2016 RAC Cooling Award for Maintenance Product of the Year. This recognition strengthened our commitment to innovation and pushed us to explore additional challenges within HVACR condensate management.
We developed UK-manufactured adjustable condensate drain supports, allowing contractors to retrofit compliant gradients beneath refrigeration cabinets. This simple but effective product met industry regulations and significantly reduced blockages caused by insufficient pipe fall. It earned us the ACR Refrigeration Maintenance Product of the Year award in 2020.
Food retail refrigeration relies heavily on condensate pumps, but there were no suitable connectors to join pump discharge hoses to above-ceiling drains. Contractors relied on makeshift solutions that caused kinking and frequent pump failures. We created a purpose-built header drain connector to provide a secure, compliant, kink-free connection and eliminate a major point of system failure.
Standard braided hoses kinked easily and were not designed for condensate pump applications. With no suitable option available, we partnered with a manufacturer to design the world’s first kink-proof condensate hose specifically engineered for condensate pumps. Today, we remain the only global supplier of this specialised hose.
In 2022, we expanded into condensate pump supply, driven by the rapid success of the UCP700 refrigeration cabinet condensate pump. Known for its reliability and efficiency, it quickly became a leading choice within the food retail sector.
This October, we are launching two new products: a corrosion-resistant condensate evaporator for integral refrigeration units, and an enhanced second generation of our UCP110 convenience retail pump. Additional new-to-market developments are already planned for 2025.
Our mission is to provide reliable, evidence-based efficiency solutions that help customers reduce operational risks and maintenance costs. From biofilm control to pump reliability, we continue to lead the way in innovative condensate management technology.
We take pride in being recognised as the connoisseurs of condensate—solving industry problems others overlook and delivering long-term value for HVACR professionals.
